Sunshine Coast man dies as car hits tree at Woodford

A 36-YEAR-OLD man from the Sunshine Coast was killed in Woodford on Sunday night when his car left the road and hit a tree.

Police believe the driver from the Glasshouse Mountains was travelling east on Beerburrum-Woodford Road at 7pm when his car went off the road.

The man died before he could be taken to hospital.

He was the only one in the vehicle.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
