Computers 4 kids a success

A SUCCESSFUL Computers 4 Kids program showed just how generous Gympie Region residents can be recently.

Gympie Cooloola Rotary member Colin Stone got on board with the program that donates computers to underprivileged kids here and overseas, and said eight pallet loads were collected.

Mr Stone said some of the computers were near-new.

“It was a pretty good response,” he said.

Mr Stone will now try and make Computers 4 Kids a regular event.

He said McClintocks Transport generously drove the computers to Brisbane on Monday before they were then taken to a workshop in Nundah, where they will be rebuilt or recycled.
