Developer to invest in Ipswich's booming property market

HIGH profile developer Devine plans to invest a further $360 million in Ipswich's booming property market, announcing Eden's Crossing at Redbank Plains.

The masterplanned residential community is set to be home to another 3000 people in the fast-growing suburb.

Eden's Crossing will adjoin Devine's Mountview estate, extending development to the Centenary Highway and across the other side of the highway to adjoin the 2400ha White Rock-Spring Mountain Conservation Estate.

The new development will include about 960 lots on a 110ha site off School Road.

The first stage of the development is land near the conservation estate previously owned by the old Western Land Corporation, a site used to provide fodder for Lone Pine.

Plans for stage one of Eden's Crossing were lodged with council last week.

About 30ha will be set aside as green open space with four community parks planned.

The development made headlines last month when councillors were divided over Devine making a submission to change the locality name from Redbank Plains to White Rock.

Devine has been in the area since 2009 with its Mountview estate.

The first release of that development, two and three bedroom freehold terrace homes, sold out within one weekend.

There will be 82 terrace homes in the stage one precinct of Mountview.

Devine communities general manager Andrew Brimblecombe said construction on the first village at Eden's Crossing was expected to commence in mid 2015.

The extension of Mount Juillerat Drive through Eden's Crossing will deliver direct road access to the Centenary Highway, bringing Springfield Central to within a five-minute drive of the new community.

Mr Brimblecombe said Eden's Crossing would be one of the best-connected communities in Ipswich, providing buyers with a desirable lifestyle with a range of amenities and facilities nearby.

"There are quality local shops, schools and childcare centres within walking distance, as well as plans for a new school and a Woolworths Shopping Centre directly adjoining the community."

The community is adjacent to Staines Memorial College, while a new state primary school, which is due to open in 2017, is being built on another adjacent site.

Mr Brimblecombe said Eden's Crossing was also close to 10 other schools, including Redbank Plains State School, eight childcare centres and two universities.

"Ipswich is a city that's on the move and we believe Eden's Crossing will be irresistible to property buyers looking for a smart investment, an exceptional lifestyle and a range of quality homes to suit all buyers," he said.

Local councillor Sheila Ireland said the development would be a great catalyst for shops and services needed in the area.

Mr Brimblecome said Eden's Crossing would be a welcoming community that was well connected to nature and modern day conveniences.

"Families will be able to enjoy a barbecue in one of the community's four parks or enjoy bushwalking in the nearby White Rock-Spring Mountain Conservation Estate," he said.

In addition to the future direct access to Centenary Highway, there are plans for a proposed train station linking Ipswich and Brisbane, with the planned Redbank Plains South Station to service the new community.

Planning is also underway for the bus service to be expanded through Eden's Crossing.
