Clare defers study for music
FORMER Gympie musician Clare Quinn has had a whirlwind journey since graduating from Gympie High School in 2010.
Having relocated to Brisbane to pursue her music career and commence music studies at QUT, Clare has been busy launching her promising career.
She recently formed a band with three fellow music students to support her solo project on select gigs and performed extensively across Brisbane at a host of well respected venues including; the Hi-Fi, the Zoo, the Powerhouse, as well as Red Deer Festival and intimate café shows.
The second half of 2010 saw Clare hit the QUT studios alongside her band members to record a six track EP, with her band member Benjamin McLure engineering the recording.
After many hours of orchestrating, arranging, tracking, mixing and mastering, the end result is a beautiful new CD titled, By The Water's Edge.
The launch of the EP was celebrated in early January at Alloneword in the Fortitude Valley and was extremely successful, with around 100 people attending.
It was Clare's last local show in Queensland for the time being. She has deferred studies and is soon to jet off to Europe.
By the Water's Edge is available for $10 at Gympie Musicland in Mary St and at Clare's website, www.clarequinn.com. .
