Gympie students learn about Kabi Kabi culture

KERRY Neil from Goombackar visited Gympie Special School last week to share indigenous history and culture of the Kabi Kabi people.

Students listened to a Dreamtime story, saw lots of Aboriginal artefacts, participated in body painting and listened to Kerri play the didgeridoo.

Teacher Michael Durai said the students had a great time.

"Kerri's performance was fun, educational, hands-on and interactive," he said.
