Storm's third straight loss

MELBOURNE will be sending out its very own bat-signal after falling to its third successive loss, outplayed by North Queensland 20-16 on Saturday evening at AAMI Park.

The Storm wore special jerseys as a cross-promotion with the new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises and could have used some superhero help after another shock defeat.

It is the first time since 2010, when they were not playing for points, that they have lost three matches in a row and the first time since 2005 that they have lost three in succession at home.

It was also the first time since way back in 2001 that North Queensland has won in Melbourne.

Centre Kane Linnett scored a double, with Cowboys maestro Johnathan Thurston having a hand in both as well as one scored by Brent Tate.
