A cuppa to help end cancer fight
FANCY a cuppa anyone?
At Gympie's Goldfields Plaza tomorrow you can join in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and help raise money for the Cancer Council and the fight against the disease.
It's the third year businesses at the shopping complex have joined forces, said organiser Helen Hall.
“We already have 17 tables booked.
“The morning starts at 9.30am and finishes at noon and everyone is welcome.
“It's just $5, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council.”
The crowd will be entertained with some country and western music and belly dancing.
Guests can also enter the fancy cup competition and there will be raffles, lucky door and lucky seat prizes and a scrumptious home made morning tea.
The grand finale is a fun fashion parade with Goldfields Plaza businesses supplying ‘the talent' who will strut their stuff on the catwalk.
“Goldfields retailers have donated all the prizes for the raffles as well as their time to serve morning tea,” Mrs Hall said.
“They enjoy giving back to the community that supports them.”
Judy Morgan from L-Ements Boutique will brave a head shave with money raised donated to the Cancer Council.
“I have people close to me who have been recently diagnosed with cancer,” Mrs Morgan said, “so this is the least I can do.”

This month, more than a million Australians will take part in morning tea events and make their cup count by raising funds for Cancer Council.
