Still no winning note for 36ers with Jazz recruit

AFTER Thursday night's 94-91 loss to Melbourne that left the 36ers with a 3-6 record to start the 2014-15 NBL season, Adelaide coach Joey Wright said he hoped his players were finally sick of losing.

They may be, but the Sydney Kings aren't sick of winning and they downed the 36ers 90-83 in Adelaide yesterday to notch their fifth of the season to stay in touch with fourth-placed Melbourne United.

In what must be a conundrum for Wright, the 36ers have lost all four games since the arrival of Boomers forward Brock Motum (pictured) after he was cut from the Utah Jazz roster on the eve of the NBA season.

Motum managed just nine points and three rebounds against the Kings, outplayed by NBA veteran Josh Childress, who finished with 21 points and eight rebounds.

Round 8 results (home teams first): Melbourne 94 Adelaide 91, NZ Breakers 107 Kings 96, Hawks 90 Crocs 76, Wildcats 84 Taipans 66, Adelaide 83 Kings 90, Taipans 91 Crocs 82.
