STARS IN TOWN: Gympie turns Hollywood
GYMPIE residents may catch a glimpse of one or more of a slew of Aussie actors in town over the coming weeks.
Actors including John Jarratt, Simone Buchanan, Hugh Sheridan and Melissa Tkautz are in the Gold City taking part in the early filming of Sunshine Coast film director Chris Sun's new horror flick, Boar.
The movie follows hot on the heels of Sun's last horror movie, Charlie's Farm.
Charlie's Farm, featuring American starlet Tara Reid, was filmed at a number of locations throughout the region, including terrifying scenes captured on a Lagoon Pocket farm.
Packed to the Rafters star Sheridan appears to be enjoying his stay in Gympie as Sun's new movie takes shape. Sheridan posted on Instagram (a social media photo sharing website) a photo of himself with a nasty-looking boar, nicknamed Darlene, at the Gympie RSL Saturday night.
"First day working on my new film…" he wrote.
