Stags in high spirits after decimating Kawana

MARY Valley Stags have decimated Kawana at the weekend, snatching their first win of the season.

Defeating the side 50-14, the local side is in high spirits after four losses in the season already.

The club's Jenna Carlson said the team had great defence going into tackles with two and three players every time.

"They didn't give Kawana any chances shutting the players down quickly," she said.

"The Stags dominated possession creating numerous chances off each set."

Making use of the weak Kawana defence, the Stags made the most of every opportunity.

An outstanding performance from Ryan Osbourn saw him take out players' player and two tries during the game.

The ground at Jack Spicer Oval looked a treat Jenna said, with president Glen Carlson giving a rundown of the field's history after the game.

The Stags will train hard this weekend preparing to play Yandina at Kawana.

Going in with confidence the Stags are favourites over Yandina and hope to return home with a win.
