Stage now set for Pre-Muster Fun Day
BRACE yourself for the Gympie Music Muster this year because the Gold City is in the mood for a party.
Mark the calendar for Wednesday, August 27 for a great day of entertainment and food as the Pre-Muster Fun Day fires the starting gun on celebrations.
Mary St will transform on the day as buskers line the street entertaining crowds while a host of activities will keep Muster fans busy.
The Royal Hotel is hosting a songwriters' session headed by Linc Phelps, Pete Denahy and the girls from Dozzi, while the Gympie RSL is serving up lunch at the Steers Steakhouse with live entertainment by Tanya Self and Adi Burgess.
The fun continues with Billy's Hotel revealing a special menu and entertainment by Phil Emmanuel and Pop Standen.
Schools are encouraged to get involved. A Pre-Muster School Showcase at the Gold City Centre Stage in Mary St sets the scene as schools battle it out for big prizes, including a Fender guitar and amp package, and a performance at the Muster.
Not be left out, Goldfields Plaza has attracted Graeme Jensen, Karen Thompsen, Alice Benfer and Mal Clark to entertain the crowds.
Those out at the Muster site have no excuse to not be involved either, with Karabee Buses ferrying partygoers into Gympie.
Muster fans will be picked up 9.30am for a day of fun before returning at 5pm and 7.30pm. Book now to secure a seat, costing $15 return. Phone 5484 4319.
