Speedway's final meet washed out

A GRIPPING season of speedway at Mothar Mountain didn’t receive the justice it deserved at the weekend, when wet weather forced the cancellation of the final meet.

Speedway enthusiast Sue Roza, who eagerly films the action at venues throughout the region, was disappointed when speedway officials were left with little choice but to call the event off.

Roza said although the meeting was washed out, the speedway season would roar back into action in September, bigger than ever.

The rain cleared later on Saturday but heavy falls in the morning had left the track far too wet to dry out in time to allow the competitors to fire up their engines.
