SLIM Dusty Dr is the Gympie Music Muster's version of Park Lane and Mayfair Dr.

The 500m section of dirt track in the Amamoor State Forest hosts a trickle of tourists during the majority of the year, but come muster time it is prime real estate, camping gold.

Last Friday, before the long weekend, the muster office announced the Slim Dusty Dr campsite was booked out with all sites taken in readiness for what is predicted to be a bumper muster during the last weekend of August.

Yesterday, temporary campsites dotted the camping area saving their owners' spots for the bigger campsites to come.

Muster office manager Kaitlyn Anderson said ticket sales were ahead of schedule for this year's event.

She said a host of great country talent, including legend Kenny Rogers, was one of the main reasons for the influx.

Miss Anderson said any patrons wanting to book sites for the muster would now have to wait.

The Muster takes over the other campgrounds including Feral Hill, Poulson's Paddock and the Five Ways on July 28.

Campers who have purchased a pass will be able to rope off their campsites from that time and then will be able to set up camp from August 18.

"It will be first in best dressed," Miss Anderson said.

"I predict campers will be going in just after midnight."

Muster entertainment gets underway on Tuesday, August 21, on-site, with the whole entertainment precinct opening to country music fans on Thursday, August 23.

Miss Anderson asked any muster patrons to phone up and voice any concerns about the event.

She said the muster office wanted to know what concerned patrons.

"If we can, we want to fix them," Miss Anderson said.

"We want people to enjoy the festival, that's what we are here for.

"If we don't know there is a problem we can't fix it.

Anyone with problems can phone 5482 2099.
