ROTORWING Helicopter Services is Lismore's newest high-flying business.
The company is fresh from its first open day on Sunday, and for those who missed it, it's worth checking out what this aviation company can do.
The business is run by chief pilot and chief flying instructor Roland Pagels and operations manager Michael Barnes.
The pair made the "strategic" move north to take advantage of the Northern Rivers' potential for aerial work and tourism services.
Far more than just a joy flight service, Rotorwing offers firefighting support, private charters, pilot training and air-work.
The air-work side of things can come as a surprise to many, but these helicopters give cranes a run for their money.
Rotorwing operates two Hueys for air-work, each capable of carrying a load of up to 1800kg.
Mr Barnes said it meant the helicopters could deliver heavy infrastructure and equipment like power poles, air conditioning units, spa baths and building supplies, in difficult to reach areas with far less hassle than cranes and trucks.
"From a logistical perspective, you can move things much more efficiently with helicopters," he said.
"There's less people involved, less road closures.

"A lot of people don't look at helicopters as a viable option for many things, they think they're too expensive.
"However when you're looking at hard to reach places and different things that can't be lifted with cranes … they're extremely competitive."
Both Hueys are also capable of carrying large water buckets for fire-fighting support.
These guys can also help you relax and show off the region to your guests with their private charters.
