Sink your teeth into food event

THERE’S enough winter chill in the wind to pique your appetite for some hearty fare, so why not try the best the region can offer?

This Saturday’s food festival Flavourfest is your opportunity to wrap your tastebuds around some fantastic locally sourced foodie finds – all under one roof at the Pavilion at the Gympie Showgrounds, 10am-6pm.

Entry is just $5, with children under 14 entering for free.

The event will feature exhibitors offering samples of fine foods, tastings of fine wines, tips, hints and of course sales to fill your kitchen larder with quality, local products.

Gourmet stars Ben O’Donoghue, Matt Golinski and Rita Macali will be there to show you how to put some sizzle into your meals with their mouth-watering cooking demonstrations.

And the even better news is there are still tickets available for Saturday evening’s Flavourfest Dinner at the Gympie Civic Centre.

If you are a serious foodie or just love great cooking join the celebrity chefs at Flavourfest and enjoy a sumptuous four-course dinner and wine tasting.

Tickets are $95 and available from Cartridge World – 206 Mary St, Gympie, or Karinya Florist – 140 Mary St, Gympie.
