Show and tell: NRL trophy visits Coast school
Pacific Paradise students have been gifted a once in a lifetime "show and tell" experience as one of the most coveted pieces of rugby league silverware was put on display.
Fresh from a nailbiting grand final, Melbourne Storm's Provan-Summons premiership trophy made a special stop into the primary school on Tuesday morning.
Storm defeated Penrith Panthers 26-20 in the decider, with the club proudly bringing the trophy back to their Sunshine Coast base at Twin Waters on Monday morning.
Pacific Paradise students were lucky enough to share in the glory as two Storm staff members had children attending the school while based in the region.
Principal Margie Burrell said it had been an exciting opportunity for the students to hold and get photos with the NRL trophy.
"One of their (Storm staff) kids wanted to bring the trophy in for show and tell," she said.
"Every one of our classes had the chance to get a photo taken with the trophy.
"Some of the adults were more excited than the kids.
"I believe we are the only school, other than Victoria, that had the chance to see it."
