Services the key to saving money on vehicle repairs
SAVING money on your motor-vehicle repair bill is as simple as following two simple tips, according to Paul Vella from Velmec Automotive.
"The most important thing is to have periodical servicing and annual inspections by trade-qualified technicians," he said.
Periodic maintenance can help to diagnose any future issues which could lead to a costly repair bill, or worse, compromise the safety of you or your family.
"At an initial service, our company does a comprehensive safety inspection and full appraisal.
"I always say you should nip it in the bud before it's a problem," he said.
The second important tip is to do something Paul referred to as owner level checks.
Basically this means taking responsibility as the owner of the vehicle to monitor fluid levels and tyre pressure.
"Say for instance you have a slow leak in one of your tyres.
"This leads to greater wear and tear on your tyres, and let's face it, tyres are expensive," he said.
Paul recommends owners should check their tyres and fluid levels at least once a month.
He also suggests owners read through the owner's manual on their cars so that they know how to check fluid levels and the recommended tyre pressures, and other important maintenance schedules.
