Semi-trailer rollover: Lane closed, heavy lifter called in

BREAKING: A truck has crashed onto its side on a Sunshine Coast street, leaving debris across the road.

The semi-trailer was driving on Sugarbag Rd, near Lawman St when it tipped sideways about 9.27am.

The driver freed himself from the vehicle, and paramedics were not required at the scene.

Police were called help direct traffic around the vehicle, which was blocking one lane near a blind corner.

A heavy lifting truck was used to remove the tipped trailer.

Emergency crews have now cleared the crash scene, but traffic is still slow along the Sugarbag Rd stretch.

It was the second time a truck carrying a load of dirt has rolled in the Caloundra area in less than a month, after a truck tipped at the intersection of Queen St and Regent St on December 14, crushing half a small car.
