Second murder mention in as many days

THE men accused of the murder and manslaughter of Tyrone Michael Baynton have faced court the second time in two days.

North Mackay man Jeremy Kenneth Abell, 26, appeared wearing the same orange and blue he wore to Mackay Magistrates Court the day prior.

Abell is facing charges of manslaughter, entering a dwelling with intent whilst armed and armed robbery.

Defence solicitor asked the matter to be adjourned to Monday.

Magistrate Damien Dwyer adjourned the matter to 9am on November 2, and ordered Abell remain in custody.

North Mackay man Joshua Don Francis Wales, 24, who is facing charges of murder, entering a dwelling with intent whilst armed and armed robbery was next to appear.

Prosecutor Sheena Hayes told Magistrate Dwyer that the crown was waiting on complex forensics and sought two months adjournment to prepare a full brief.

Magistrate Dwyer ordered the crown deliver a full brief to duty solicitor Chelsea Cross by January 15.

He told Wales he was remanded to appear via videolink on February 11, 2016, for a committal mention.

Police are still searching for a third man wanted for the murder of Baynton, 29-year-old old Mala Owen Geissler.
