Scotland is best-and-fairest

CARLTON veteran Heath Scotland has won his first club best-and-fairest award in his 14th season in the AFL.

The 32-year-old, who has re-signed with the Blues for the 2013 season, beat forward Eddie Betts and skipper Chris Judd.

Scotland, who has played 244 games for Collingwood and Carlton, led the Blues with an average of 26.3 possession a game in 2012, while Betts, the club's only All-Australian nominee, was the leading goalkicker with 48.

New Carlton coach Mick Malthouse has publicly confirmed the club is interested in speaking to disgruntled Adelaide forward Kurt Tippett, but Brisbane and the Suns still lead the race for his signature.
