Santa ready for Silver Sleigh Shuttle rides

SCHOOL'S out and Gympie region children are counting down the days until the jolly man himself makes the trip from the North Pole.

Also in the spirit is the Mary Valley Heritage Railway, lifting the season's spirits with its Santa's Silver Sleigh Shuttles.

The popular shuttles ran last week and are back on track again today and Friday evening.

Word on the street is Santa himself is planning on making a visit at the Old Gympie Station, with his list to check who has been naughty and nice.

Both Thursday and Friday will feature four shuttle trips - at 6.30pm, 7pm, 7.30pm and 8pm. Each shuttle trip lasts for 15 to 20 minutes.

Mary Valley Heritage Railway president Tony Hallam was looking forward to the Christmas goodwill and even coaxed Santa from his workshop for a photo opportunity with The Gympie Times yesterday.

Cost for Santa's Silver Sleigh Shuttles is $4 for adults and children.

Bookings and information, phone 5482 2750 or visit thevalleyrattler.com.
