Council rush to finish Gympie Region Business Survey

THE 10th Gympie Region Business Survey closes today.

The council has been undertaking this survey series since 2010 to gain first hand feedback from the local business community about issues, opportunities and relevant topics.

Focus for this is on regional exporters - so if you are an existing exporter or intending to export, your feedback and input is critical.

The council is seeking to identify areas where assistance can be provided to help develop or grow export markets or to provide information to help businesses venture into the world of export.

Mayor Mick Curran said the estimated value of goods and services exported from the Gympie region in the 2013/14 financial year was $455 million, making it a significant contribution to our Gross Regional Product of $2 billion.

"We have had some of our major agricultural and food processing businesses complete the survey," Cr Curran said. "However, we are still seeking feedback from other companies in the region to gain a greater insight into export-related issues and opportunities."
