Rural fire brigades set for Action

ACTION Auto Group Gympie and Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland have sealed a deal for all rural fire brigade volunteers in Queensland to buy any new Mitsubishi, Ford, Subaru, Nissan and Kia vehicles at national fleet pricing as a "thank you".

This partnership is the first of its kind for the association and is an example of local communities working together for the overall benefit of the rural fire brigade volunteers who do their very best to protect communities from the ravages of bushfires, often in difficult and dangerous circumstances.

As the bushfire fighting specialists, these volunteer men and women stand ready to battle wildfires and help in other emergency situations throughout Queensland and interstate. The partnership with Action Auto Group Gympie is especially important, because more than two-thirds of Queensland's Rural Fire Brigades don't receive enough or any direct funding and any benefits that the association can provide is a way of saying "thank you" for the good job they do.

The Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland represents the 34,000 volunteer fire-fighters in Queensland who protect 93% of the state. The association is a charity responsible for purchasing essential fire fighting equipment for brigades, and provides a network of district representatives.
