FOOTBALL Gympie doesn’t like being idle, explaining why the popular club has been busy applying the final touches to what is promising to be a hectic remainder of the season.
Club secretary Pam Tindall has been marking dates on the club calendar and this weekend is a particular highlight.
Football Gympie this Sunday will be hosting the Sunshine Coast Fire in their home game match against Bundaberg Spirit.
The Queensland State League (QSL) round match will be an exhibition of football at its elite level and Tindall is expecting a blockbuster.
“It should be a great day for spectators and players,” she said.
The Fire and Spirit will take to Field 1 at the One Mile Ovals at 4pm after reserve grade lifts the curtain earlier at 2pm.
Earlier in the day, a number of Gympie teams will be playing friendly matches against Football Wide Bay.
Tindall has encouraged Gympie football fans to pack the stands and take in the day’s action before the headline act between the two QSL sides.
