Retreat good as Gold
THE XXXX Gold Retreat is back at the Muster again and it's bigger and better than ever.
The bar opened at 10am yesterday with Gympie Hammers rugby league players serving the first coldies.
XXXX Gold Retreat spokesperson Brodie Watson said the bar on wheels was slightly more improved on last year's model and had so far served racing enthusiasts at the V8 Super Cars.
He said the seven gorgeous XXXX Angels would once again be performing on stage at the Retreat, which is located up the hill right in front of the Muster main stage.
“It's the place to watch all the big acts,” he said.
In answer to the important question of whether the beer will be colder, Mr Watson joked that patrons would be able to enjoy the same quality as last year.
The B-Double truck which turns into the XXXX watering hole, a bit like a Transformer, is one of a kind and home to a fully functional two-storey bar. After rolling into Amamoor Creek on Sunday, the bar, which is one year old, took about 10 hours to assemble.
This year, there is extra room for patrons and a bigger back deck has been added to the bar, which has flat screen TVs featuring a live feed from the main stage, just to ensure you don't miss any of the action.
The top level of the bar will give patrons a great outlook over the Muster main stage and surrounds while they enjoy a brew or two.
In a prime position to catch James Reyne, the McClymonts, Sunny Cowgirls, Jimmy Barnes and Lee Kernaghan, just to name a few playing at the main stage, the Retreat is sure to attract an enthusiastic crowd.
Entry to the XXXX Gold Retreat is free and all proceeds from the bar go towards Rural Aid and local charities.
And the simply fantastic XXXX Angels troupe are professionally trained dancers who will be performing throughout the Muster from today.
Catch the XXXX Angels for their first performance at the Retreat from 1pm.
