Man in fight for life after suspected drowning on Coast

UPDATE: A MAN in his 40s has been airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition after suffering from a medical condition while scuba diving.

A rescue helicopter was tasked to La Balsa Park on Harbour Pde at Buddina about 11am to reports of a suspected drowning.

Queensland Ambulance Service crews treated the man on scene for about 40 minutes.

A RESCUE helicopter has been tasked to transport a scuba diver from a Buddina boat ramp after the 40-year-old man nearly drowned.

Queensland Ambulance Service crews arrived at the La Balsa Park boat ramp at Harbour Pde to treat a man who suffered from a 'medical event' while diving off the ramp.

A QAS spokesman said the man was in a serious condition.

Paramedics are still treating the man on scene however, the spokesman said he could soon be airlifted.

Crews received the call at 10.50am today.
