Refunds begin for cancelled Monster Slide

TICKET holders for the cancelled Monster Slide event have started to receive their refunds.

Organisers of the giant waterslide event planned for Burgess St in Caloundra last month were criticised for failing to refund tickets after the event's cancellation.

Eumundi's Kerry Hartshorn bought $246 worth of tickets for her family to attend the inaugural event.

Ms Hartshorn spent weeks trying to reach Dash Tickets, the agency which ticketed the event, and the Monster Slide company, without success.

After expressing her concerns to the Daily, she received several emails from both companies and the full amount was credited back to her account on Thursday.

"I feel it to be a bit too much of a coincidence to have a lot of communication on Monday morning from Monster Slide and Dash, since the story was in Saturday's paper," she said.

"I hope everyone else gets their money back too."

The event was said to have been rescheduled for September but this had not been confirmed by Sunshine Coast Council, which needs to approve a new permit in order for Monster Slide to operate on the new date.
