Reds' mission impossible

TOM Cruise starred in Mission Impossible at the flicks.

Digby Ioane is hoping to star when the Queensland Reds attempt the almost impossible at Suncorp Stadium tomorrow night - reach the Super Rugby playoffs

After missing the past two games, the winger has recovered from pneumonia and has been named in the defending champion's strongest line-up of the season for the must win clash against New South Wales

Liam Gill, Rob Simmons and Beau Robinson have also been cleared to play.

The Reds need a four-try bonus point win and hope other results go their way to have any chance of defending their crown.

Their cause will be helped after Wallabies Wycliff Palu and Sekope Kepu were ruled out of the Waratahs line-up through injury.

The Waratahs were ruled out of the finals race a long time ago, but they will have something to play for.

They have lost their past seven games, their most ever, and won't want to extend that unwanted record.

Reds coach Ewen McKenzie is not taking anything for granted.

"It's a big game anytime you play the Tahs and there is obviously more than just bragging rights at stake," he said. "We just have to keep our mind on the bit we can manage, we're not worrying about the scoreboard and bonus points and that sort of stuff."
