'Reckless LNP agenda' is impacting Qld economy: Swan

THE "consequences" of sacking of 14,000 public servants were evident in the latest job figures released on Thursday, Treasurer Wayne Swan said.

Queensland was the only state that failed to create jobs in February, figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed.

The remaining states which combined to create a stellar 71,500 jobs, the strongest monthly result in over a decade.

"In contrast to other states which combined to create a stellar 71,500 jobs, the strongest monthly result in over a decade," Mr Swan said.

"Queensland has long been on one of the major engine rooms of our national economy.

"Mr Newman and the LNP need to stop their reckless agenda which clearly is having an impact on Queensland's economy."
