RECALL: Natural teething product 'potentially dangerous'

A NATURAL teething product has been recalled after it was revealed it posed a "serious health hazard".

Kadac Pty Ltd's Hyland's baby teething tablets and baby nighttime teething tablets, homeopathic tablets marketed for temporary relief of teething symptoms in children.

The product has been recalled by the Therapeutic Goods Administration because it contains inconsistent amounts of belladonna alkaloids that differs from the amount on the label.

Belladonna represented "a serious health hazard to children" and its effects were unpredictable, Product Safety Australia advised.

Consumers should immediately cease using the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. For further information consumers should phone Kadac Customer Care on 1300 762 025.
