Community representative sought for Rattler board
THE Rattler Railway Company wants a community representative to join the board to assist in the start-up of this new not-for-profit company.
Gympie MP David Gibson said this was an exciting opportunity for a community-minded person with drive to be a part of the next phase in the life of The Rattler.
"The Rattler Railway Company will be established as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee for the purpose of providing governance and oversight to the operations of a heritage railway on the Mary Valley railway line," Mr Gibson said
"The selected community director will join a skills-based board. We a looking for a community member with an interest in the future of the Rattler and who has strong community links."
If you are interested in serving on the board of the Rattler Railway you need to be able to satisfy ASIC requirements for being a company director as set out in the Corporations Act 2001.
The board will be looking for a person with:
- An appreciation of governance frameworks and risk management issues.
- An appreciation of the value of community engagement and stakeholder consultation.
- The capacity to disseminate and receive information from local community organisations.
