Rattler back on track

THERE were some positive steps announced yesterday in a bid to resurrect the Mary Valley Rattler.

The formal creation of the Mary Valley Railway Holding Company and the trading company under it called the Rattler Railway Company paves the way for steam engines to head back into the Valley.

It's been a long haul for all involved.

It has taken a leap of faith by the Gympie Regional Council to back the plan and a lot of hard work by Member for Gympie David Gibson to get the project close to being back on track.

The good news is the directors on the board are all people with track records of success in our community.

Hopefully their combined leadership will turn the Rattler into the tourist icon it once was, providing hours of enjoyment for families from all over the country.
