MISS Scarlet Tinkabelle aka Alicia Taylor is using her unique appearance for the greater good.
The former Miss Pin-Up Australia contestant, who by day is a property manager at Stockdale & Leggo, Caloundra, has joined a global team of women striving to be different and make a difference.
The Mooloolaba woman has joined The Modified Dolls, a non-profit organisation which supports a different charity each month by means of events, fundraisers and auctions.
Modified Dolls' goal is to demolish the negative stereotypes associated with being a "modified woman" by doing charity work.
Alicia said the organisation was the place she had been searching for, for many years.
"We are the 'different', making a difference," she said.
The inked beauty is one of two Sunshine Coast Dolls currently involved with this international organisation, the other woman is Alison Love White.
Alicia said although she does not have a confirmed date for a Coast fundraising event, locals could support Modified Dolls by attending the first event for the Queensland Modified Dolls, The Modified Markets, which will take place at North Lakes Community Hall on June 30, with proceeds going to the charity of the month nature.org.
Local businesses are still able to become involved in the event by having a stall for only $40.
The Aussie chapter is currently striving to raise funds for the Kids Helpline.
Kids Helpline is Australia's only private and confidential, 24-hour telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged between five and 25 years.
Alicia said each week counsellors answer more than 5500 calls and web contacts from children and young people - often regarding very serious issues.
She said Kids Helpline relied on community support to keep counsellors on the line.
"Your support truly does save lives," she said.
Anyone wishing to show their support can do so online at: http://www.khlappeals.com.au/aus_mod_dolls.
The Coast Dollies have big plans for creating a local event to raise money for their charity of the month, so stay tuned.
The Aussie Dolls are always on the scout for new dollies, so, if you are heavily tattooed and/or pierced and want to make a difference, register your interest online at www.modifieddolls.org.
