At a time when the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter Service has mobilised an additional on-duty crew to the Sunshine Coast base to increase the emergency response capacity across the region due to adverse weather, local thrillseekers were yesterday placing their life and limb at risk jumping into floodwaters at the Gympie touch field from the top of a light pole.

David Donaldson, AGL Action Rescue chief pilot urged people to be mindful of the weather conditions and not to take risks, which potentially places unnecessary pressure on emergency services.
