Storms veer away from Sunshine Coast, heading for Wide Bay
1:00 PM : SEVERE thunderstorms are headed directly for the Wide Bay Burnett with damaging winds expected over the next several hours.
Locations which may be affected include Hervey Bay, Fraser Island, Hervey Bay waters, Maryborough and Childers.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Southeast Coast district and the warning for this district is cancelled.
The next warning is due to be issued by 4:10 pm.
12:20 PM A SEVERE thunderstorm warning for destructive winds and large hailstones has been issued for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast.
Locations which may be affected over the next several hours include Hervey Bay, Fraser Island, Hervey Bay waters, Maryborough, Toolara Forestry and Childers.
8.30 AM : RAIN is predicted for parts of SEQ today with thunderstorms building over the Sunshine Coast hinterland and showers in the Wide Bay potentially building into storms.
According to Higgins Storm Chasing, thunderstorms were this morning building through the Sunshine Coast hinterland and Nanango districts and rapidly moving east.
They said showers that have developed in the Wide Bay district could also become thunderstorms as them move towards the coast.
From Toowoomba to South Brisbane, Higgins Storm Chasing said today would bring clearing showers.
