RAFAEL Nadal will have his final tune-up for the Australian Open at Kooyong.

In a massive coup for the event, the Kooyong Classic will feature Nadal and Novak Djokovic in its men's field, two players who have 26 grand slam titles between them.

It has meant some alterations to the draw, but tournament director Peter Johnston said it was worthwhile.

"Rafa was looking for match play and of course we were more than happy to oblige," he said.

"The addition of both Novak and Rafa changes our schedule and the way we will run the four days but that's what Kooyong is all about, we are here to help the players get ready for the Open.

"And of course, in our 30th anniversary edition, it will be amazing to have two of the all-time greats on the famous Kooyong centre court, and that's before we even mention the other names in the top 10 we have this year ... it's shaping up as a great anniversary edition."

Australian Bernard Tomic will also play in a special exhibition match on Tuesday afternoon.
