Racheal our most glam 'real woman'
RACHEAL Koschenow may soon be ditching the kitchen for a chance to become a poster girl for the more realistically proportioned Australian.
The 20-year-old Raceview pizza chef has made it to the semi-final stage of a national model search which specifically targets what lingerie brand sponsor Curvy Kate refers to as "real women".
Ms Koschenow is following in the footsteps of fellow Ipswich woman Lydia Wilson, who last year made the top five of the Star in a Bra model search.
Her spot in the semi-final stage puts her among the nation's top 20 entrants this year.
"I just found out about the competition in a magazine one day and decided I would do it," Ms Koschenow said.
"I have never been into modelling but just thought I would give it a try. At the start of this year I made a decision to start eating healthier, looking after myself and generally being more positive, and this is part of that."
This year, D+ lingerie brand Curvy Kate received twice the number of entries compared to last year and had more than 11,000 visits to the Star in a Bra page.
It is now down to the general public to cast their vote to decide who will be this year's winner.
Ms Koschenow's picture is on the Facebook site waiting for fans to give it the thumbs up.
"I think the idea of the competition is good - it is always nice to see curvier girls in advertising," she said.
"Some of the models you see are just unrealistic. Sometimes a curvier body is better than a skinny one."
The top five finalists will be given a makeover, with the finished result appearing in a future issue of Take 5 magazine.
The final winner will be flown to London to participate in a photo shoot for the new season Curvy Kate catalogue.

Voting closes at midnight tonight.
