Queensland man accused of torturing, burning victim

A KEPNOCK man will face court on Monday accused of torturing and burning a 29-year-old man in the Bundaberg region.

Police said they had charged a man following an alleged assault that occurred in Mount Perry last month.

Police commenced an investigation after making inquiries with a 29-year-old man who had presented himself at the Bundaberg Hospital with fractures, head injuries and burns last month.

Police will allege that the man was assaulted at an address on Heusman Street between March 20 and 27.

A 32-year-old Kepnock man has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, torture and acts intended to main/disfigure or disable.

He is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court.
