Six times over: driver returns reading of 0.324

PETRIE police, called to a local shopping centre car park on Saturday afternoon, intercepted a vehicle whose driver allegedly later returned a blood alcohol reading more than six times the legal limit.

Police attended the Anzac Avenue, Kallangur shopping centre around 2pm following report of a possibly intoxicated man looking into vehicles.

Officers intercepted the man as he was allegedly driving out of the car park.

The man- the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle- allegedly returned a positive road side breath test and was transported back to the station for further analysis.

A 26-year-old Kallangur man was issued with a notice to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on August 17 on one charge of driving under the influence of liquor, after he allegedly returned a reading of 0.324 per cent.
