Quality and quantity in at Gympie Fishermen’s Warehouse
DESPITE the weather not being the best over the last week there has been plenty of quality fish around.
Bream numbers have been terrific both on the beaches and in the estuaries.
There have been some good reports from Fraser Island from around any of the established rocks, with bream up to 38cm landed, and fish of the same size from both Teebar and Seary's ledges in the Strait.
Flathead catches were strong again with good numbers of big females around, surrounded by plenty of smaller males.
Anglers are finding a number of legal squire in the Strait, combine that with the cod, parrot and mowong from the same reefs and many boaties are coming away with really good feeds.
Still seeing both sand and mud crabs from those working pots- expect the muddies to slow down as the water temps drop.
The Mary River is fishing well for mainly bass with baits of live worms working well, including spinner baits and small minnows.
