QLD DECIDES: The side poised for victory in 2020 election

ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk looks poised to claim victory at the 2020 election with the Premier's popularity surging during the COVID-19 crisis.

News Corp's exclusive YouGov Poll of 2000 Queenslanders has revealed the Premier's resurgent popularity has helped Labor eclipse the party's primary vote at the 2017 state election.

On a two-party preferred basis, Labor leads the LNP 52 per cent to 48 per cent, the reverse result of another poll undertaken just four months ago.

The stunning turnaround in Labor's electoral fortunes represents a swing to the Palaszczuk Government of slightly less than one per cent, putting the Premier in the box seat to claim a third term.

Labor's primary vote has risen to 37 per cent, compared to 35.4 per cent in 2017 while the LNP is also on 37 per cent after achieving 33.7 per cent of the vote three years ago.

Ms Palaszczuk's management of the coronavirus crisis has helped her achieve a stunning recovery of her popularity with 57 per cent of Queenslanders approving of her performance compared to 29 per cent in February.

Ms Palaszczuk has chalked up her most dominant performance over Ms Frecklington as better premier, leading 48 per cent to 22 per cent while 30 per cent of voters remain undecided.
