Where will you be watching the Origin tonight?

IT MAY be state against state, mate against mate, but it should be pretty much a sea of maroon swarming across Gympie pubs and clubs on Wednesday, as keen fans gather around big screens to watch the first game in this year's State of Origin.

People from all walks of life will be enjoying the atmosphere at one of the Gympie establishments.

Some of the pubs and clubs screening the game live on their big screens include the Empire Hotel, Curra Country Club, the Gympie RSL, Mt Pleasant Hotel and the Royal Hotel.

Mt Pleasant will be running a free sausage sizzle at half time; the Empire will have snacks and nibbles available to paying patrons, while the Curra Country Club will have half time nibbles and the courtesy bus will be running.

The Gympie RSL will be screening the game live on all their Tvs and they are also running a great give away in which anyone who buys a XXXX product can be in to win great prizes.

Get decked out in your favourite colours, whether maroon or if you dare, blue and check out your favourite pub or club and watch what is considered by some to be the greatest rugby league tournament in Australia.

The first Queensland vs NSW State of Origin game on Wednesday, being held at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, kicks off at 8pm.

It will be preceded by the under-16 State of Origin curtain raiser, at 6pm, which will feature a Gympie Devil local, Tino Faasuamaleaui.
