Violent public nuisance paroled

A DRUNKEN man who bashed two men in a Brisbane public park at Roma St appeared in Gympie Magistrates Court this week.

Keith Lewis Bond, 28, who was jailed in February, told the court he did not want to spend any more time behind bars.

"My father was locked up most of my life and I don't want to follow in his footsteps," the Stafford Heights father of four told the court on Tuesday.

Bond pleaded guilty to public nuisance when he repeatedly harassed, pushed and punched two men on September 24 last year.

Magistrate M. Baldwin reminded Bond of the dangers of alcohol abuse and violence and gave him three months, with time served accounted for.

Bond was also placed on probation for 12 months and imprisoned for four months with immediate parole for contravening a court order at Kandanga on January 24.

A suspended sentence was extended by six months.
