Repeat drug user on probation

A CARTER'S Ridge man charged with producing a dangerous drug, supplying a dangerous drug and possessing a utensil used in connection with a dangerous drug, pleaded guilty in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday.

Desmond Gordon Warfe, 33, of Happy Jack Rd, declared a small plant and a pipe when police executed a search warrant on his property on January 24.

"Police found two black pots with seedlings and a 45cm plant and minimal text messages in relation to drugs," Police prosecutor Senior Constable Lisa Manns said.

"My client really co-operated with authorities," solicitor Greg Scott said.

"He's had issues with marijuana in the past but he gave up four days prior to the warrant being executed.

"He had been smoking because he suffers from hyperactivity."

Warfe was placed on six months probation.

"Probation is not easy," Magistrate Maxine Baldwin said.

"It's meant to be a punishment."
