Power to Tin Can Bay

TIN Can Bay is set to receive a new safe and reliable power supply with the replacement of 90 power poles in the town.

Energex crews and contractors will be undertaking maintenance work to the electricity network, replacing power poles and installing overhead powerlines.

An Energex spokesman said to ensure continued power supply, generators would be put in place along the sections of the works.

"When power interruption is required a minimum of two business days' notice will be provided," the spokesperson said.

Power interruptions will be between the times of 8am-4pm and traffic control will be in place to ensure local access at all times.

Work is set to begin April 29 and continue to July 31 subject to weather and site conditions and construction will be carried out from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Some work may occur outside these hours due to local conditions.

Residents can expect vehicle movement, construction noise, vegetation maintenance, traffic changes, generators near work areas and elevated work platforms.
