Police use humour to highlight serious road safety concerns

QUEENSLAND police are taking on a new tactic to encourage motorists to be careful on the roads - humour.

The Queensland Police Service Twitter team, a group awarded and applauded for its community engagement, gained a few laughs with a Harry Potter reference on Tuesday.

"Hermione Granger may have had a time turner, but you don't. Decisions behind the wheel are final. You don't get another go."

The tweet comes as the state road toll hit 31 this week.
