Police seek public help in firearm related incident

POLICE have put out a Queensland-wide appeal for public help to locate a man they say may be able to help them with information about "a serious offence involving a firearm last month north of Brisbane".

A police news release late yesterday said the incident occurred around 11pm on March 21, and resulted in a 23-year-old man receiving "serious facial injuries".

"The 23-year-old man attended the Caboolture Hospital and received treatment for his injuries," the statement said.

"Gympie man Tallen Steven Hames, 23, (pictured) may be able to assist police with their inquiries."

The statement said police believe Tallen Hames may be in the Gympie, Sunshine Coast or Maryborough areas.
