Police seek man over caravan fire

POLICE are appealing for public assistance regarding the death of Robert Pitman, 77, who died in a suspicious caravan fire at Rows Road, Duingal, near Gin Gin on April 7, 2010.

Investigations into the cause of the fire and subsequent death of Mr Pitman are ongoing.

Police think a man who made a series of suspicious bank transactions on Mr Pitman’s account in the days leading up to his death may be able to assist them with the investigation and would like speak to anyone who may have seen him.

They have released an image of the man seen at the Suncorp Bank sub-branch at Gin Gin on the afternoon of Tuesday April 6, 2010.

Bundaberg District Superintendent, Anne Macdonald said the origin of the fire was suspicious, and detectives would like to hear from anyone with information. Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
