Search finds boy, 9, dead after jet-ski crash

SUNDAY: The nine-year-old boy missing after being thrown off a jet-ski at Lake Moondarra has been found deceased.

Police say around 11am a 34-year-old man and a six-year-old boy were on a jet-ski when it crashed into the edge of the lake and struck the nine-year-old. 

Police divers found the boy around 6am this morning

The crash is currently under investigation.

The man and the six-year-old were both taken to hospital with injuries.

SATURDAY: A NINE-year-old boy thrown off a jet-ski at Lake Moondarra near Mount Isa this morning has not been seen since.

Emergency services are now coordinating a search and rescue operation to locate the boy.

He was one of three people, including a six-year-old boy, thrown from the jet-ski when it crashed into the edge of the lake about 11am.

The six-year-old and a 34-year-old man were both injured and taken to hospital.

"A search of the area has commenced using a helicopter, ground and swift water rescue crews," Queensland Police said in a statement.

"Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
