Police search Caboolture industrial estate

UPDATE, WEDNESDAY: TWO men wanted in relation to an armed robbery remain on the loose after a major police operation at a Caboolture industrial estate failed to locate them.

A Police Media spokeswoman said while she could not discuss "operational matters", officers were still actively hunting the men.

The Caboolture industrial estate between Lear Jet Dr and Aerodrome Rd was in lockdown for hours on Tuesday as uniformed officers, the doq squad, and police helicopters searched the area.

Earlier reports the two men had been captured were incorrect, and the Police Media spokeswoman said there had been confusion due to a second incident involving the arrest of a man west of Caboolture.

UPDATE: POLICE have resumed normal duties after searching for two persons of interest in a Caboolture industrial estate for most of Tuesday morning.

A police media spokesperson said at 2.45pm police had so far failed to locate the two people, who were wanted in relation to a robbery.

It was previously reported police were searching for just one person, however the spokesperson confirmed there were in fact two.

EARLIER: A MAJOR police operation is underway at a Caboolture industrial estate near Lear Jet Dr and Aerodrome Rd as officers search for a person of interest.

A Police Media spokesperson could not say why police were conducting the searches, other than to say they were "looking for a person of interest".

Owner of The Commercial Guys, Adam Leishman, has watched as police dogs have been used to search through buildings during the morning.

He described the industrial estate as being in "lockdown", with ordinary cars unable to enter.

"It's like they're only letting trucks in - it doesn't look like they're letting normal vehicles out," Mr Leishman said.

A police helicopter has also been seen patrolling the area.

The police spokesperson said police patrol units were stationed at the Caboolture Sundowner Hotel and the industrial estate, with officers searching nearby areas.

The incident began at 10.30am, the spokesperson said.
